University of Michigan Museum of Art
One of the finest university art museums in the country, UMMA collections represent 150 years of art history. A dynamic schedule of special exhibitions and interpretative programs connects visitors with the rich artistic legacy of the past as well as today’s avant-garde. 

Kelsey Museum of Archaeology
The Kelsey Museum houses a collection of nearly 100,000 objects dating from the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean including Egypt and the Ancient Near East as well as Greece and Rome. Objects dating from 5000 BC to 900 AD are displayed in two galleries with another gallery offering annual changing exhibitions. 

Dexter Area Historical Museum
The museum is housed in the former St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, built in 1883. Included in the collection are furniture and clothing from many time periods, toys, medical equipment, a complete turn of the century dentist's office as well as a running model railroad, designed by a local resident, that is a complete replica of the Village of Dexter. 

Michigan Firehouse Museum
Located in Ypsilanti's former Fire Hall, this museum displays fire memorabilia and antique fire engines. 

Saline Railroad Depot Museum
The story of the Saline Depot is of village growth and Saline’s integration into the larger economy of the country. Tour the station agent's room, freight room, livery barn and even a fully furnished caboose. 

U of M Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments
View more than 2,000 musical instruments in this internationally renowned collection. It is the largest assembly of such artifacts in any North American university. 

Washtenaw County Historical Society Museum
This 1830s house on the national and state register of historic places offers changing exhibits relating to Washtenaw County history. 

Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Collection
Learn about the unusual role Ypsilanti played in the history of the American automobile. See vehicles of bygone eras, study signs and records of early area auto dealers and solve the mystery of the world's most notorious highway map. 

Bixby Puppets
Mr. Bixby's "Meredith Marionettes Touring Company" toured the Midwest and south for more than 40 years, performing in schools, theaters, and community centers. His handcrafted puppets have appeared in 20,000 performances over the years and are now displayed in the Saline Cultural and Commerce Center. 

Art Galleries
There are more the fifty galleries in the area displaying and offering for sale an eclectic selection of original art by regional artists. Purchase paintings in various mediums and styles, forged iron, bronze, sculpture, blown, fused and stained glass, pottery, and handcrafted jewelry. 

The Detroit Institute of Arts
The DIA ranks as one of the finest art museums in the nation and its collections are among the most comprehensive in the country. The European collection is one of the largest and most distinguished in the United States and includes significant works by Bruegel and Caravaggio. 

ENTERTAINMENT 

Ann Arbor Civic Theater
This 76-year-old nonprofit community theater produces a full season of shows from the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway. There are even opportunities to participate in all aspects of theater, from acting to directing to stagecraft. 

Kerrytown Concert House
Located in Ann Arbor’s historic Kerrytown section, the KCH an important part of the cultural fabric of the greater Ann Arbor Area. Operating out of a small and unique facility, KCH presents a rich and diverse, year-round calendar of performing arts offerings including chamber music, solo concerts and a jazz series featuring internationally known artists. 

Saline Fiddlers
The Saline Fiddlers astound audiences every time they take the stage. Comprised of local high school students, they present an energetic, polished stage show that includes music, song and dance from the traditions of American folk fiddle, bluegrass, western swing and Celtic music. 

Michigan Classical Repertory Theater
Performing the works of Shakespeare, Shaw, Sophocles, and Strindberg, the MCRT promotes understanding and appreciation of classic theater. Performances are held at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti. 

Morrisco Theater
The Ann Arbor News has called the MT, “a top-notch troupe.” The troupe performs 2 productions annually at the Kerrytown Concert House. 

Performance Network
Performance Network is Ann Arbor’s resident professional theatre company, featuring Off-Broadway quality productions in an intimate 139-seat theatre. This award-winning, nationally recognized theatre company features a diverse calendar of musicals, comedies, dramas and American classics. 

Purple Rose Theatre Company
Founded by movie actor-writer-director Jeff Daniels, a Chelsea resident, this company produces several plays a year, with an emphasis on midwestern playwrights and themes. 

Comic Opera Guild
The COG is located at the U of M in Ann Arbor and performs everything from Mozart to comic operetta. Casts mix professionals with talented members drawn from the community and auditions are open to anyone who enjoys singing. 

Wild Swan Theater
Wild Swan Theater delights family audiences with performances that blend storytelling, movement and music into magical and accessible cultural experiences. Premiering productions at its home base in Ann Arbor, WST is nationally known for its ingenious artistry and its projects for participants with disabilities. 

Saline Area Players
The Players perform three shows each year, including a musical, a comedy and a drama. The performers are community members from all walks of life, drawn together by their love of the stage and you’re welcome to become involved. 

Detroit Symphony
The acclaimed DS has been performing the highest quality classical music for ninety years. In 2003, they moved to the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Downtown Detroit, a band new, state-of-the-art, 2,000-seat concert hall.  

Michigan Opera Theater
The MOT presents a year round calendar of grand opera in the stunning, eighty year old Detroit Opera House. Also enjoy a yearly season of dance events that include performances by some of the world’s leading ballet and modern companies. 

SPORTS AND RECREATION: 

Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation
Ann Arbor is rich in parks and recreational opportunities. There are 147 local parks and recreation facilities offering every activity imaginable from archery to snowshoeing. 

Saline Parks and Recreation
Saline includes nine public parks allowing every type of activity imaginable. There’s also a Recreation Complex with an indoor pool, indoor track, weight room and sports courts of all kinds so winter or summer, you can always stay in shape. 

Washtenaw County Parks
Spend a day hiking, biking, swimming or boating in one of Washtenaw County’s 13 parks, lakes and recreation areas. Join a team, recreation program or enroll the kids in a nature class. 

Huron-Clinton Metro Parks
13 Metroparks covering almost 24,000 acres serve about nine million visitors annually. The Metroparks are located along the Huron and Clinton rivers, providing a greenbelt for recreational fun around the Detroit area. 

Michigan State Parks
With 97 state parks and a natural environment beyond compare, get out and enjoy yourself. Recreational staples such as hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and picnicking are just the beginning of all the adventures available to park visitors. 

Washtenaw County Golfing
The Ann Arbor area boasts a great selection of public and private golf courses that showcase the work of some of golf's finest architects. From Alister Mackenzie’s revered semi-private University of Michigan Golf Course and the Donald Ross members-only Barton Hills Country Club to public courses like Karl Litten's Eastern Michigan University Huron Golf Club and Arthur Hills' Stonebridge and Golden Fox, this area is a golf Mecca. 

Pierce Lake Golf Course
Located between the Village of Chelsea and I-94, Pierce Lake Golf Course is easily accessible from the entire southeastern Michigan area. This public 230-acre, 18-hole course offers something for every golfer, regardless of proficiency and has been called a “best kept secret” by michigangolf.com.  

Sharon Mills
Nestled on the banks of the River Raisin in Sharon Township, Sharon Mills County Park occupies a site where Native Americans once hunted. A mill location since 1834, purchased by Henry Ford in 1928 and reconstructed as a "Village Industry" plant to produce cigar lighters for Ford vehicles, the facility was restored in 2002 by Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation and may be toured during the summer months. 

Waterloo Recreation Area
Waterloo Recreation Area is the largest park in the Lower Peninsula. Set on more than 20,000 acres, the park boasts two modern campgrounds, a rustic campground, an equestrian campground, a swimming beach, several picnic sites, 11 excellent fishing lakes, eight boat launches, 12 miles of interpretive nature trails, 47 miles of hiking trails, three rustic cabins, numerous equestrian trails and the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center. 

Waterloo Pinckney Trail
The Waterloo-Pinckney Hiking Trail just west of Ann Arbor is a 36-mile, 3-day trail traveling between Big Portage Lake and Silver Lake Beach. Hike, mountain bike (26 miles of hiking trails are open to mountain biking including the very-challenging Pottawatomie loop), horseback ride and cross-country ski during the winter. 

Michigan Hunting
No matter the game you’re looking to bag, there’s a place to do it nearby. From waterfowl to elk to even bear, enjoy a sportsman’s paradise. 

Michigan Fishing
Anglers will discover plenty of rivers and lakes filled with trout, bass and sturgeon. Just purchase a license and start hauling in your catch of the day. 

Spring Valley Trout Farm

Exhibit Museum of Natural History
The University of Michigan Exhibit Museum of Natural History is a dynamic, evolving exhibit space that includes permanent exhibits on dinosaurs and other prehistoric life, Michigan wildlife, Native American culture, anthropology and geology. The museum is located on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus.  

Ann Arbor Street Fair
Established in 1960, the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is a three-day summer festival that attracts over 500,000 attendees from across the nation. It was recently named the number one art fair in the country by American Style Magazine. 

Kerrytown Historic District
Come shop, dine, be entertained and stroll the tree-lined streets. Kerrytown District is a unique blend of neighborhood and businesses. Davenport House
Well-known Detroit architect William Scott designed this elegant Second Empire home. It is the Saline’s most prominent architectural landmark and was constructed in 1875 for William H. Davenport, a wealthy local merchant.

Rentscler Farm
The historic, one hundred year old Rentschler family farm, now owned by the City of Saline, has been turned into a museum depicting American farm family life during the first half of the 20th century. The farm currently has fifteen working exhibits housed in the farmhouse and ten barns. 

Gerald Ford Presidential Library
Located in Ann Arbor, tour the presidential library of the 38th commander-in-chief. President Ford is a native son and University of Michigan graduate.
